[NYC .NET DEV] Topic changed for tonight's meeting and VSLive! meeting

Warning:

This article is more than 45 days old and thus may be somewhat out of date. Please keep this in mind when reading the post. If this is a tutorial, please check whether you are using the same versions mentioned in the article.

There has been a last minute change in the topic for tonight's meeting. It seems some flooding is keeping the speaker away, so the topic will no longer be developing Ink applications for the Tablet PC. Instead, Stephen (one of our fearless leaders) will be giving a talk on ASP.NET caching techniques.

While Stephen is a great presenter (he was at DevDays too), I'm not sure now whether I will make it up tonight - things are a bit busy here and it's not a must-see topic for me.

In related news -

The special VSLive! meeting is taking place again this year on Tuesday, July 27th. Brian Randall will be giving a talk from 6pm to 8pm about 'Asynchronous Execution in Windows Forms', which will be immediately followed by Midnight Madness (free schwag!).

A number of us got together last year for a few drinks. It was definitely a good time and I would love to do it again. If anyone is in the area or in town for VSLive! and wants to do something similar this year, let me know.

(It is also the day after my final exam, so I expect I will be eager for a drink or two...).
